Carol was a SNAP home repair and weatherization client in 2002. After her home was inspected, a new furnace and hot water heater was installed, windows were replaced, and insulation was added as needed - all at no charge to Carol.
Carol was so thrilled by the repairs made and the respect she received from the SNAP crew, she made a bequest that a portion of the sale of her house after her death would be given to SNAP, so that others might receive the gift of a safer home as she had.
What is a Planned Gift?
Planned gifts include contributions to SNAP made through your will, charitable gift annuities, securities, life insurance, pooled income funds, retirement funds, and charitable trusts. In some specific situations, SNAP will also accept your gift of real estate.
With a planned gift, you can create a legacy for you and your immediate family, just as Carol did.
Planned gifts provide SNAP with a predictable source of income and give you immediate or long-term tax benefits. This fosters peace of mind.
How to get started?
A representative of SNAP will gladly meet with you, your attorney and/or your tax advisor to discuss these opportunities. Contact Development Manager Sharon Robertson today at (509) 456-7111 ext. 212 or robertson@snapwa.org.
