The Spokane Community Voice Mail Program (SCVM)

The Voice Mail Program provides free voice messaging for people without phones.

It operates just like the phone company answering system, and callers who leave messages cannot tell that you do not have an actual phone line. You retrieve your messages from any phone simply by dialing your number and entering a PIN number.

SCVM provides individuals with a personal 7 digit phone number to use to retrieve private and important messages from employers, landlords, case managers, health care providers, legal service providers, family and friends. Messages can be retrieved 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from any phone. SCVM helps people gain independence and maintain privacy.

Eligibility

You must:

  • be phoneless
  • have low- or no income
  • be in need of phone service to find:
    • a job
    • housing
    • social services
    • medical services
    • legal services
    • or to have communication safe from domestic violence

For more information contact: Community Voice Mail

The Spokane Community Voice Mail program is part of the national network of CVM sites, empowering people in crisis and transition by distributing free 24-hour voice mail nationwide-directly linking individuals to jobs, housing, safety and stability.  Headquartered in Seattle, Washington, the CVM National website is: www.cvm.org
