A disabled Vietnam veteran with physical and post traumatic stress disorder disabilities, Dan was living on a little more than $400 a month in the Otis Hotel, a dilapidated, unsafe building that was closed in 2007.

SNAP’s Senior Family Development Specialist, Bob Peeler, worked with Dan to find a new home and was able to secure housing for him in one of SNAP’s rental properties. At the Otis, Dan lived in a bug-infested studio apartment and shared a bathroom with other residents.

In his new apartment, he has a kitchenette, a bedroom and a small bathroom – and most importantly, he says, there are no bugs.
