Who can apply for a volunteer project at SNAP?

SNAP accepts volunteer applications from:

• Individuals
• Service learning students
• Civic and fraternal organizations
• Businesses
• Schools
• Church groups

How to Apply

Before serving as a SNAP volunteer, all potential volunteers must complete:

• A SNAP volunteer application
• A criminal background screening
• An interview and orientation

Do I need any special skills?

Many opportunities require only a desire to help others, but some volunteer positions require specialized training or experience to be successful. 

Will I have to pass a background check?

YES. All volunteers at SNAP are required to submit a background screening form. The purpose of this background check is to protect the low-income and vulnerable people the agency serves.

How many hours a week can I volunteer?

The hours will vary depending on the project and your availability. SNAP volunteers serve between 2 to 30 hours per week.

• Pick-up a Volunteer application packet at your local SNAP office, or
• Call SNAP's Volunteer Coordinator Myla Sety at (509) 456-7111 ext. 226, or
• Download the Individual Volunteer Application or Group volunteer application from this web site.
